It looks like the launch of Starfield was the biggest event in the history of Xbox Game Studios

When Starfield released on Wednesday, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer announced that there were over a million concurrent players across all platforms. However, the exact number of unique users who took part in the game remained unknown.

Now this information has become known thanks to a tweet from the official Starfield Twitter account. The tweet claims that by the end of the first official day of release, more than six million people had played the game.

The message also emphasizes that “by morning, Starfield reached 6 million players, becoming the most successful launch of a Bethesda game in its history.”It looks like the launch of Starfield was the biggest event in the history of Xbox Game Studios

While there’s been no official announcement from Xbox yet, it appears that Starfield also had the biggest launch day for games from Xbox Game Studios, including games from Bethesda.

The previous record was set by the release of Forza Horizon 5 in November 2021. At the time, Phil Spencer said the game had reached “4.5 million players across PC, cloud and consoles,” making it “the most successful launch for a game from Xbox Game Studios.”

Given the lack of new data, Bethesda’s announcement of six million players after the first day of release will likely set a new record. It is unclear whether Starfield will be able to surpass the record of Forza Horizon 5, which attracted 10 million players in its first week and was recognized as “the most successful first week in Xbox history.”
