Ministry of Economic Development: annual inflation in Russia accelerated to 5.19%
From August 29 to September 4, annual inflation in Russia accelerated to 5.19% after 5.03% a week earlier. This is reported by the Ministry of Economic Development in a review of the current price situation.
The department notes that prices rose by 0.11% during the week. In the food segment, inflation accelerated to 0.12% amid a slowdown in deflation for fruits and vegetables to 1.3% and continued growth in prices for other products (0.24%).
In the non-food segment, prices increased by 0.41% due to higher prices for household appliances and accelerated growth in prices for cars and gasoline. In the services sector, deflation slowed down from 0.37% to 0.28% against the backdrop of a 4.94% drop in airfare a week earlier, they fell 8.77%.
On the eve of the Central Bank predicted that by the end of the year inflation in Russia will be 5-6.5%. On average, over the past three months, consumer prices have grown by 0.61% per month, which corresponds to 7.6% in annual terms.
Earlier, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation sharply raised the key rate to 12% at an unscheduled meeting.
